Work yourself up to an Aurgasm of sound

Aurgasm.us is a top-rated, award winning blog and is the right place for music fans to hang out. The writing is professional, the tone friendly, and the content terrific. The music coverage is divided into categories including classical, pop, soul, and others. The audience maybe primarily a younger set, but it’s worth a look, anyway, baby boomers.

Get up, come out of your musical rut, follow the Information Highway to an ear-tingling virtual vacation of music you’ve probably never heard. I was perusing the list of PC Mag’s favorite blogs and had to take a look at Aurgasm if for no other reason than I liked the name. It’s an aural blog by music geek Paul Irish. Loved it!

Aurgasm’s author, Paul Irish has gathered ear-candy, full length MP3’s of music, from all over the world in every genre. I found Emily Loizeau – a French singer-songwriter – pianist that just suits my taste. She’s fresh and lively – kinda like the Mugwumps of old – odd sounds and vocalizations mixed with excellent music. It’s in French, of course, and that’s the point – stuff I’ve never heard before to broaden my listening horizons.

I spent about an hour playing with the site – you can listen, buy songs or buy whole CDs. Give it a listen sometime when you need to perk up your outlook.

You might also stop in at Pandora which bills itself as a radio station that plays only what you like. You get to choose the style of music you enjoy, and after the site quizzes you on several areas of music, it determines what would please you and presents songs that fit those parameters. Music, food for the soul.
